Cellino’s is now Cellino Law, and Barnes’ is the Barnes Firm. But the drama isn’t over, because Barnes’ girlfriend then brought a lawsuit against Cellino. According to Buffalo News, Barnes’ girlfriend, Ellen Sturm, sued Cellino over an alleged bonus that was never given to her.

Ross Cellino and Stephen Barnes called their partnership quits back in May 2017 (and the battle became more and more dramatic), but that doesn’t stop us from wondering whatever happened to these two and why they decided to start suing each other. What happened between Cellino and Barnes?

According to his father, he spent much of his time in the professional wilderness doing manual labor: building fences, planting trees, and helping out at Habitat for Humanity. When Cellino returned to the firm, both he and Barnes agreed that his suspension had shifted things. They just didn’t agree on how.

How long has John Cellino’s license been suspended?

Cellino’s license to practice law has been suspended for six months and Barnes has been censured, which does not affect his ability to practice law.

The court concluded that Barnes violated six of the Disciplinary Rules of the Code of Professional Responsibility and Cellino violated eight of the rules, which govern the conduct of New York lawyers. The investigations stemmed from several cases the two lawyers handled dating back to 1994.
