While the officers are still looking into the matter, the victim’s family expressed their sadness and grieving.

Marcus Bethea was a 24-years-old man who died after getting shot at the Jamaica Center/ Parsons-Archer station in Brooklyn, New York.

His friend, Smith from Virginia, who knew Bethea, mentioned he had been to New York City for only three to four years. Moreover, he was having a tough time adjusting to the city.

As per NY Daily News, he also had many arrest records and allegations. However, his friend explained, “He did what he had to do to survive. He was a great person.”

Smith added, “New York wasn’t the place for that man.” Marcus, who lost his life early, was known to be a charismatic person; who made other laughs but was struggling his way in NYC.

Monday evening was an unfortunate incident for the young man, where he got shot to death. At the time, he was trying to get a ticket to return to Virginia.

Despite giving medical attention quickly after getting shot, the victim couldn’t get saved. Before the shooting, he was having a dispute with a service booth.

Also, the officers discovered a gun and five shell casings on the scene.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon; however, the station was not closed as people continued their ride. One of the riders mentioned, “Scary. Scary, but I have to use it.”
