He took a leave from school for two years in 2003 to practice full-time golfing. He played in Dakota tours and has been the two-time winner.

Jay earned 10 points under 61 and won the gold medal in Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was directly qualified for Standford Internationals.

He has never been a professional player neither in his high school nor in his college life. He got his first set of clubs on his 18th birthday from his mother and finally got into a golf course.

He wanted to follow his career in golf as a college student but decided to opt for teaching instead. But he was always interested in golfing. And he used to play every now and then whenever he got the chance.

Including Dakota tours, he also played in the Hooters. He also made an appearance in mini-tour in Jacksonville and Alabama.

Before qualifying for Standford, Mr. Jurecica also played his share in PGA TOUR Canada Q-School but he didn’t go through the tournament.

Just as you would expect a maths genius to keep trying till he got the right answer, Jay also tried for the second time for the PGA and finally got his pass.

His brother Jeff Jurecica supported him to follow his dream and is supporting him in the field too. Jeff will be the caddy for his brother in PGA.
