The youngest daughter of international civil rights leader/TV host Rev. Al Sharpton and  Dr. Kathy Jordan Sharpton has an elder sister named  Dominique Sharpton-Bright.

Ashley earned four scholarships to Hampton University and other prestigious HBCUs after graduating with credits and honors from Poly Prep Country Day School in 2005. She eventually went to study sociology at the esteemed Hampton University.

Ashley is fond of the entertainment sector and exploring her interest throughout her life. Sharpton Entertainment LLC (formerly known as Harlem Ink), an entertainment business focused on showcase production, marketing, and media services, was established by Ashley before departing for college in 2006.
