American football player Matthew Judon attended West Bloomfield High School. He was the only Grand Valley State player to earn an invite in two years and choose to attend the NFL combine out of the 65 defensive linemen that received invitations. Judon demonstrated his physical prowess and strength by placing first among defensive lineman in the 40-yard dash, bench press, and vertical jump (fourth). He and four other teammates attended Grand Valley State’s pro day on March 15, 2016.
Judon did positional drills and decided to stand on his combine numbers during his pro day, which was attended by team representatives and scouts from 26 NFL teams. He had a strong workout and improved his draft standing, earning high accolades from the scouts in attendance. Judon worked out and met privately with the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles during the pre-draft period.
