One of the very evident central themes of Encanto is that of determination. We see it in individual members of the Madrigal family and in the family as a unit as well.
A Colombian teenage girl has to face the frustration of being the only member of her family without magical powers. Encanto tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto.
Encanto is the latest feature-length film from Disney and the studio’s 60th animated feature. Encanto is the most thought-provoking film the studio has produced. The animated musical fantasy-comedy focuses on an enchanted village in Colombia led by the Madrigal family.
The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal-every child except one, Mirabel. But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.

According to Collins Dictionary, Encanto means “the allure of something or someone is the pleasing or exciting quality they have.”. In fact, Encanto is the word Disney has chosen to title their next Latino-inspired animated film. The film features multiple Afro-Latino characters and songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Carlos Vives.
