Chelsea Field was born Kimberly A. Botfield, on May 27, 1957, in Glendale, California, USA. She is an American actress and has been married to Scott Bakula since 1996 and they have two sons together.

Field started her career as a dancer with her first TV role on Airwolf. She has also played Teela in the 1987 film adaptation of Masters of the Universe. She began portraying attorney Rita Devereaux on NCIS: New Orleans during the program’s third season. The character was changed from recurring to regular effective with the seventh season.

Why did Chelsea Field change her name?

Chelsea Field in an interview mentioned that she had intended on reverting to her real last name after the movie, The Bachelor’s baby. She said, “I dropped the Bot when I started dancing, but since we have no plans to marry, I wanted to go back to Botfield to have more of a connection with my son.
