Emilia Fox says having Amanda Burton, the show’s former leading lady, return for the momentous 25th season was “amazing” but “nerve-racking” to film.

Burton, 65, played pathologist Professor Sam Ryan on the hit forensic crime drama from its inception in 1996 until 2004.

She will reprise the role in a six-part anniversary series on BBC One on Monday, nearly 18 years later.

Burton is a spokesperson for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s premier charity for children suffering from brain damage and neurodisability.

She married photographer Sven Arnstein in 1989, but the couple separated in 2004 after rumors of his adultery surfaced. Burton has a relationship with photographer Stephen Colover as of 2008.

Burton has two children, Phoebe Marie (born 1989) and Brid Irina (born 1989). (born in 1991). Brid is a writer and actress who featured alongside her mother in the short film The Dog With The Woman. Phoebe is a filmmaker and photographer. She was in charge of a David Beckham Fragrances campaign.
