Who Is Carol Kane?

Carol Kane is an American actress and comedienne born on June 18, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was raised in a Jewish family by her Jewish parents, Joy Kane and Michael Kane. Her mum was a jazz singer and pianist.

Kane was schooled at the Cherry Lawn School, in Darien, Connecticut, and later studied theater at HB Studio.

She made her acting debut in 1966 when she featured in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

From then, Kane appeared in different TV series and films including American television series Taxi, Hester Street, Dog Day Afternoon, Annie Hall, and The Princess Bride.

She is known for playing the role of Madame Morrible in the musical Wicked, on Broadway.

Kane is the main character on the Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, in which she played Lillian Kaushtupper.

In 2022, Kane announced that she would be starring in the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Kane is an Oscar Award winner, a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award winner.
