Claude Noel, a former professional boxer from Trinidad and Tobago, has passed away.

Noel, 74, passed suddenly on Sunday at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, according to his family.

Uncertainty surrounds the cause of death at this time.

A video showing the nation’s first world title boxing champion writhing on the ground and pleading for assistance was shared on social media last month.

Noel, an amputee, could be heard in the two minutes, 54 second video asking for his stick.

However, his family members stated that the video was actually taken at Noel’s Malabar home a year prior by his carer and sent to his wife and family back home.
