Rebecca Asis, Lincecum’s mother, is the daughter of Filipino immigrants. Chris, his father, worked at Boeing. Tim held out for a larger signing bonus when he was drafted so that his father could retire. Chris began assisting his son in refining his pitching motion when he was four years old, filming and analysing his son’s practises and games.
