Steven Starkey and Julie Starkey Die in a triple-fatal crash in Harrison County.

The victims of a Sunday triple-fatality collision in Harrison County have been named as Steven Starkey and Julie Starkey, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The truck driver in question has been named as Ronald Meeker of Woodbine.

On Sunday in Missouri Valley, a collision involving three motorbikes and a truck claimed the lives of Steve and Julie, both 53. The other cyclists that were involved have been identified as Joseph Baker, Adam Opal, and Samantha Opal.

Meeker, 73, reportedly lost control of his truck while driving it on IA-127 close to Loess Hills Trail in Missouri Valley at 4:30 on Sunday. The truck then veered into three motorbikes’ path.

During the incident, Steve and Julie were flung from the bike.

Meeker perished in the collision as well.

Prior to being struck, Baker, who was driving the second motorcycle involved, leapt off. Adam and Samantha, who were riding the third involved motorcycle and were both 38 years old and from McClelland, were able to dodge the truck but were then ejected off the motorcycle.

Injuries to Baker, Adam, and Samantha were unknown until they were taken to a local hospital.

The accident’s cause is still being looked into.
