Biography:

Sanaa Lathan was born on September 19, 1971 in New York City, New York, USA. She attended University of California, Berkeley where she finished a degree in English.

She began her acting career in 1997 when she starred as Young Lilly in Miracle in the Woods. In 2000, she starred as Monica Wright in Love & Basketball where she was nominated for Best Female Lead at the Independent Spirit Awards.

She has since appeared in other films including Brown Sugar, Out of Time, Alien vs. Predator, Something New, A Raisin in the Sun. She also played the recurring role of Michelle Landau in Nip/Tuck.
