Ryan Tubridy, also known by his stage moniker “Tubs,” was born in Ireland on May 28, 1973. He hosts The Late Late Show and The Ryan Tubridy Show.
The Full Irish, a radio program that Tubridy previously hosted on RTÉ 2fm, was at its conclusion Ireland’s second-most-listened-to radio program[citation needed]. He hosted the Saturday night TV conversation show Tubridy Tonight on RTÉ One for five seasons between 2004 and 2009.
Later, he left RTÉ 2fm for a while to host The Tubridy Show on RTÉ Radio 1, but he came back to RTÉ 2fm in 2010 to host a daily morning radio show from 9:00 to 11:00 when The Gerry Ryan Show was canceled due to the host’s untimely death. Additionally, he twice served as the Rose of Tralee competition’s host.
Tubridy wrote JFK in Ireland, a profile of US President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 visit to Ireland, as part of a two-book deal with HarperCollins, as a nod to his passion for US politics. The Irish Are Coming, Tubridy’s second book about the influence of Irish people in the UK, was published in 2013. Tubridy was named one of the ten “icons” of 21st-century Ireland by the Sunday Tribune’s Derek O’Connor in 2008. He has several Meteor Award wins and nominations dating back to his time as host of The Full Irish.
