The death of a Penn Hills couple is being investigated by police this morning as a possible murder-suicide.
If it turns out to be the third murder-suicide since the year began, that would be significant.
After being summoned to an apartment on Conestoga Road for a welfare check on Tuesday night, Penn Hills Police discovered a 62-year-old woman named Rosemary Washington and a 63-year-old man named Thomas Washington Sr. both dead from gunshot wounds.
The Homicide Unit of the Allegheny County Police Department is looking into this case, and in the coming days, the medical examiner’s office will issue a formal determination regarding the cause and method of death.
This tragic incident follows two similar investigations, the first of which involved a spouse shooting.
Call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-255-8477 if you have any knowledge about what may have happened to this Penn Hills couple.
