Biography:

Patricia Velásquez was born on January 31, 1971 in Zulia, Venezuela. In 1989, she joined the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant where she placed second. After attending college for three years, she left for Milan, Italy to pursue a career in modeling.

In 1997, she took acting lessons in Los Angeles and New York. She then walked the runways for such designers Bella Freud, Claude Montana and Dolce & Gabbana.

Two years later, she gained wider recognition for her role as Anck-Su-Namun in The Mummy. She reprised her role in the film’s sequel The Mummy Returns in 2001.
