Oprah Winfrey is trending not for all the glamorous reasons, but for the heartbreaking news of her father’s death. The sad news has gotten many of her fans interested to learn more about her family background.

Vernon Winfrey, a former Nashville city councilman, and local barbershop owner died Saturday, according to his daughter and TV mogul Oprah Winfrey.

He is said to have died at age 88. (I had the sacred honor of witnessing the man who was responsible for my life take his final breath), she said. (When he died, we felt Peace enter the room) she added.

However, nothing has been said about what killed him; most likely, he died of old age.

Oprah spent her early childhood in Kosciusko, Mississippi, with her father, and in Milwaukee with her mother, Vernita Lee, who died in 2018.

She did, however, live in Nashville with her father between the ages of 7 and 9 and during her adolescence.
