Veronica Jones died of murder done by her boyfriend, Devon Omar Epps. Epps stabbed Jones to death and then left her rotting remains in his bathroom for more than six months.

The local coroner conveyed Jones was hit with a metal table pedestal, raped and then stabbed 32 times. Her body was found in the bathtub of the apartment the two shared in Stockton, east of Oakland, on December 5, 2011.

As per a report, at the trial, family members testified that they reported she missing in July, a month after Jones vanished. Police told the family they visited the apartment, but never went inside, Jones’ brother, Issac Zunica, said on the stand.

Moreover, the murderer, Devon, was sentenced to life in prison due to mental illness. But he deserved a death penalty, the same report claimed.
