On September 25, a man was killed in a shooting in a Howard Johnson parking lot in Northeast Portland.

Martese Oliver, 26, of Washington, has been named as the victim of an early morning shooting outside a Northeast Portland motel.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson hotel near Northeast 82nd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard, according to police. Oliver died on the spot.

His death was declared a homicide by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner.
