Obituary; Jayvon Pryor Dies By Suicide: Queens Uni. Student

Martin, along with the other members of the women’s lacrosse program, will be taking part in the Out of the Darkness community walk that will take place at Freedom Park on Saturday, October 3.

The walk will be held in honor of the Out of the Darkness initiative. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is the organization that was established in order to provide financial support for activities pertaining to research, education, survivor support, and awareness. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is the recipient of the funds that will be raised when this walk is completed.

These programs have two primary objectives: the first is to provide aid to persons who have been affected by suicide, and the second is to prevent suicide from occurring in the first place.

On the 8th of February in 2009, Amanda Martin, who was participating in the Queens women’s lacrosse team at the time, received a phone call from her mother. In the end, this phone call would have a big influence on the way that the rest of her life would unfold from that point forward. In the early hours of the day, Krista, who was a close friend of Martin’s, took her own life. Martin’s heart was broken by the news of her dying.

Martin’s admission was that “I was in complete and utter disbelief.” This was the remark that he made. Due to the fact that there was absolutely no manner, I was unable to take in the information. I didn’t become conscious of the fact that anything was truly going place until I was sitting in the church and wandering through the graveyard.
