Normally, I don’t post anything. In light of my friend Daniel Venuto’s untimely death today, I feel compelled to write the following:
For the past few hours, I’ve been thinking about this, and I’m still unsure of what to say. To me, you were like a brother. Together, you and I have experienced everything from thick to thin and everything in between. One of the toughest guys I’ve ever known, you inspired everyone you came in contact with. You were followed by so many people on your life’s journey that you were unaware of, and you served as an example for them all.

I’m confident that you’ll think about us all and inspire us to achieve whatever it is we want in life. You have been doing it that way, and you will keep doing it.
Man, I adore you.

I awoke with the hope that the news from the previous night was all a nightmare.
It’s a real nightmare, sadly. Daniel Venuto was all I knew for seven years, and my heart is still devastated. I send my condolences, love, and prayers to everyone who knew him better than I did. I can say nothing but cry some more.

My friend, you will be sorely missed. I know he already considers you one of his favorites because of the impact you make on people, but this doesn’t seem real. I cherish you, bro. We’ll miss our FaceTime conversations and our daily gossip, but I won’t say goodbye since “I know I’ll see you again, this side or that.”
