We are deeply saddened to share that Nicola Usher, board member, and volunteer, passed grantest weekend. Our hearts go out to her dear family and vibrant community of friends. We miss her dearly.
Nicola was a bright light at ASC. She was brilliant, an astute problem solver, funny, kind, and ever willing to jump in and help. She loved volunteering in the store, helping folks find just the right thing. She introduced many people around town to the Center and worked to make it feel accessible to all. As a board member, and especially as the board Vice President and Chair of the Governance Committee, she was a trusted thought partner and insightful leader. She was both passionate and measured in her responses and had a remarkable ability to take in all sides of an issue, cut through the noise, and hone in on what was most important. She loved Grilled Cheese Friday. Nicola embodied the ethos of the Center. Thank you, Nicola, for your incredible years of service as a volunteer and community member, and leader on the Board. We miss you.
Our feelings for the family are beyond words. The entire family has our sympathy. God grants the departed person’s soul rest.
