American actor Matthew Steven LeBlanc became well-known around the world for playing Joey Tribbiani in the well-liked NBC comedy Friends and its spinoff series Joey. LeBlanc received three Primetime Emmy nominations for his outstanding performance in Friends.
In the 2011–2017 television series Episodes, he also played a fictionalized version of himself. He received four additional nominations for Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for his performance in the show.
In addition, from 2016 to 2019 LeBlanc co-hosted Top Gear, and from 2016 to 2020 he portrayed Adam Burns, the head of the Burns family, on the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan.
LeBlanc’s acting career got its start in 1987 when he made an appearance in a Heinz Tomato Ketchup commercial. He played the lead role in the one-season television drama TV 101 in 1988.
In 1991, he played the character Vinnie Verducci on the popular Fox comedy Married… with Children. Vinnie was a relative of the show’s protagonist Al Bundy (Ed O’Neill), who briefly dated Kelly (Christina Applegate).
Red Shoe Diaries’ inaugural season featured him as a guest star as well. Top of the Heap (1991) and Vinnie & Bobby (1992) were two short-lived Married… with Children spin-offs in which LeBlanc starred (1992).
