Amy allegedly got into a fight with Lora, and Lori joined in to physically assault Lora. Amy eventually confessed that Paul had killed Lora with a can of chili beans and a dent puller.

Lori recalled hitting Lora with the can and the dent puller in addition to punching her.

However, Lori also asserted that Paul was ultimately responsible for Lora’s death.

Paul predicted that Lora would slit her wrists to commit suicide. Lora cut her wrists with the available razorblade, but the wound was only minor.

Paul’s death sentence was overturned in 2015. He is still a prisoner at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, California. Paul cannot be granted parole.

Lori, 19 when the crime was committed, ultimately admitted her guilt and consented to give false testimony against her sibling.

She was given a 15-year to life sentence. She reportedly received a parole release sometime in 2021.
