She was born Linda Ann Moulton in Boise, Idaho, where she won the 1963 Miss Idaho crown and then entered the Miss American 1964 pageant in Atlanta City. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a B.A cum laude in English Literature.

Next year, in 1966, she received the Stanley Baubaire Scholarship to complete her Master’s Degree at Sanford University in Palo Alto, California. Extremely endowed, Linda earned her master’s degree in Communication in 1988.

While at Stanford, she produced her Master’s Thesis on ‘A Picture Calculus’ for the Stanford Linear Accelerator and a documentary film for the Stanford Medical Center. Her father, late Chet Moulton served as Idaho’s Director of Aeronautics (1946-1971) & was the recipient of numerous aviation honors.

Linda’s revelation as a private person has deprived us of knowing her personal life in detail. Linda married young; she was only 29 when she took Larry W. Howe as her husband back in 1968. They’ve had a child, daughter Laura Kathleen Howe, together. However, a child and 18-year of togetherness couldn’t save their marriage and eventually divorced in 1986.
