After being born prematurely in 1966, Lea Nikki Bacharach spent the first three months of her life in an incubator.

Her father, who won Oscars for creating Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head and Arthur’s Theme, also wrote a song about his daughter named Nikki in 1969 when the severity of her illness began to become obvious.

Nikki studied geology at Cal Lutheran University. With the assistance of her father, she was able to finish the degree. She was, however, unable to continue a career in the profession due to her poor vision.

People who have Asperger’s syndrome, a type of autism, usually have restricted interests and difficulty understanding other people’s perspectives.

Mr. Bacharach and his second wife, 75-year-old Angie Dickinson, whom he married in 1965, had just one child, Nikki.
She allegedly died by suffocation using helium and a plastic bag, according to the coroner’s office.

According to Mr. Bacharach’s publicist Linda Dozoretz, “She softly and compassionately committed herself to escape the harm to her brain brought on by Asperger’s.”

Cats, Tahiti, clear skies, fiery sunsets, meteor showers, glacial calving, earthquakes, and science were all to her taste.

Songwriter Burt Bacharach is mourning the death of his only child, Angie Dickinson, an actress who committed herself at the age of 40.

After years of battling Asperger’s syndrome, Nikki Bacharach took her own life on Thursday night in her Thousand Oaks, California, home.
