Following a collision in Bartholomew County yesterday morning, a Madison woman died.

Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting declared 20-year-old Katelyn B. Tullis dead at the scene due to catastrophic neck and chest injuries. The collision occurred at the intersection of South County Road 525E and East County Road 100S at around 8:45 in the morning.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department claims that Tullis was a passenger in a car being driven by North Vernon resident Ayden Pittman, 19, who was traveling north on County Road 525E when he failed to yield to approaching traffic and cut in front of an SUV traveling west.

Pittman was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis by Lifeline helicopter after suffering major injuries to his back and abdomen.
