Karibuni, meaning welcome in Swahili, is an appropriate name for this  attractive and friendly lodge. In stunning raw natural landscape on the edge of Kitale, Karibuni Lodge provides comfortable accommodation and tasty home cooking. This is an ideal location for hiking, field studies, bird watching and relaxing.

The lodge has double, twin and single rooms, some with en-suite bathroom and others sharing a bathroom. There is also a dormitory and a campsite.

Camping equipment and bicycles are available for hire. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, including home baked cakes, are prepared using fresh produce from the local farms and served at a communal dining table. Meals include African and Western dishes; vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements can be catered for. A full selection of soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits is also available.

The lodge has a lounge with log fire, a small library, board games and a book exchange. The garden has shaded seating areas and hammocks.

Excursions, ranging from a couple of hours to several days,_are led by local trained guides. Visits to local homesteads, schools and markets are 0ffer as well as trips to Saiwa Swamp National Park, Kakamega Forest, Marich Pass and Mt Elgon.
