According to the police, a guy in Lancaster County strangled his wife, which caused her death a week later.

After Kylee Ortiz, 23, passed away on Sunday at a hospital, Manheim Township police announced that charges against 25-year-old Jordan Ortiz will be elevated to murder.

According to a criminal complaint, Kylee Ortiz admitted to detectives that she had been choked by her husband on April 2 at their Lancaster Township residence.

Police were called to the house twice that day due to reports of domestic violence. According to the police, Kylee described being choked but didn’t elaborate.

She went to the hospital on Monday for treatment, and on Thursday, the ICU admitted her. According to police, physicians told them she had a blood infection as a result of being suffocated.

Friday saw the arrest of Jordan Ortiz on charges of aggravated assault and strangulation. When upgraded charges are filed, the $750,000 bail amount could be amended or canceled.
