On Monday, July 24, 2023, John Mark Oswald, 66, of Hartstown, died quietly in Danville, PA, while riding his pulling tractor, one of his greatest passions.
John was born in Meadville on August 25, 1956, to the late John and Alice Ruth Miller Oswald. He married his beloved wife, Patricia McMaster, on July 24, 1999, and they had a life filled with love and dedication.
John, a Conneaut Lake High School alumnus, worked for PennDot for 20 years while simultaneously dedicated himself to the family farm, Oswald Farms. John, along with his sons and brother Phil, was devoted to farming and worked tirelessly to preserve the family’s agricultural tradition.
Aside from farming, John was a huge fan of tractor pulling, taking satisfaction in the adrenaline of the activity. He also enjoyed spending time on side by sides. His most treasured and valuable moments, however, were spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.

Jase, Palmer, and Jaxton, his three grandsons, were his pride and joy. His four sisters, Gloria Kemmet, Liz Hutchinson, Rachel Oswald, and Ruth Packard (Chet), as well as his brother, Phil Oswald (Joan), and several nieces and nephews, survive John.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Reash Community Church, 4931 US Highway 19, Cochranton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 29th. Rev.
