The club has confirmed that MILLWALL owner John Berylson passed away at the age of 70.
Since taking over as chairman in 2007 after Stewart Till retired, the American businessman, who first became acquainted with The Lions in 2006, has overseen two promotions to the championship.
On Tuesday night, the Championship team published a message on Twitter.
“We announce the demise of our cherished owner and chairman, John Berylson, with a shattered heart and the sincerest grief.
Unquestionably, John’s abrupt and tragic death will have an impact on everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. He was definitely a terrific man who gave his entire life to his family and who was immensely kind, friendly, and kind.
He had a colourful and joyful life and was incredibly considerate of others, always eager to offer his vast wisdom and experience in order to benefit others.

According to a tweet from the English Football League, “The EFL is shocked and saddened by the news and sends its deepest condolences to John’s family and everyone connected with Millwall.”

Berylson took part in charitable endeavours. The Amy Smith and John G. Berylson Foundation served as the vehicle for his and his wife Amy’s charitable endeavours. Through the Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation in Boston, they focused mostly on philanthropy and education.
