Jemaine Atea Mahana Clement, a New Zealander actor, comedian, musician, and filmmaker, was born on January 10, 1974. Together with Bret McKenzie, he formed the musical comedy team Flight of the Conchords, which has published many albums. They also produced the comedy series of the same name for HBO and the BBC, for which they were nominated for six Primetime Emmys.
He has appeared in films such as Dinner for Schmucks (2010), Men in Black 3 (2012), People Places Things (2015), Humor Me (2017), and The Festival (2018). He has also provided voice work for Despicable Me (2010), Rio (2011), Rio 2 (2014), Moana (2016), and The Lego Batman Movie (2017). In 2014, he made his directorial debut with What We Do in the Shadows, which he also co-wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in with Taika Waititi, and was later turned into an FX Television series of the same name. In 2022, he appeared in the film Avatar 2.
