Jashawna Coleman Death, Victim Shot Dead

It was reported on Sunday that Jashawna Coleman, 15 years old, was shot and died while visiting family in Kershaw. As a result of their investigation, four persons have been arrested and charged in connection with her death.
A 15-year-old girl was slain in a drive-by shooting at a relative’s apartment, and four people have been detained in connection with her tragedy.On Thursday, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said that Antonio Gary Johnson, 20, two men aged 16 years old, and a female aged 15 years old were all in jail in connection with the shooting death of Jashawna Coleman. It was via the use of surveillance footage that the culprits were located by the police.Deputies were originally summoned to the Foxwood apartment complex on Country Club Road in Kershaw at 1 a.m. Sunday after reports of gunfire. The residents of the condominium reported hearing gunshots and seeing a car speed away from the scene. No injuries or any damage were discovered, however deputies did find what seemed to be damage to an air conditioning unit.As 7:05 a.m. rolled around, deputies were once again sent to the building. Sunday, Coleman’s aunt discovered her lying on the couch, wounded from a gunshot. Deputies said the teen was declared deceased at the scene by Lancaster County EMS.
Authorities said the incident occurred when Coleman was visiting family. No one else in the house, adults or kids, was hurt.
Coleman was shot at around 1:00 am, and police believe he was wounded by a gunshot that entered the residence through an exterior wall. There is nil proof that a second shooting happened anywhere in the building.
Surveillance footage was acquired by police after the incident in an effort to identify and locate the perpetrators. A Nissan Altima was seen firing shots in the area, so they set out to find it.
The automobile was later located by the deputies, who discovered it belonged to a woman living on Day Street. Investigators seized the Nissan after searching the residence it was discovered in. Multiple guns were discovered and confiscated during the execution of search warrants at other nearby residences.
Johnson was arrested at one of the apartments after police used this evidence to link him to the crime. Johnson has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder and carrying a firearm while committing a violent felony. Johnson has been sent to the Lancaster County Detention Center.
The 15-year-old was taken into custody in the same manner as the older suspect. To this day, he remains in the custody of the DJJ in Columbia.
In Camden, South Carolina, authorities located and detained one of the teens, and on Wednesday, another 16-year-old brought himself in with a parent present. They will be taken before the DJJ and charged with the same crimes as Johnson.
