Jabez Spann Murder Update: Missing Teen Death Remains A Mystery, Who Killed Him?

The murder update of Sarasota teen Jabez Spann’s death has passed nearly four years since no arrest has been made yet. Read on thoroughly for the case updates. 

Jabez Spann was a teenage guy of 14 years who went missing on labor day on September 4, 2017. The police found his remains after one and half months on the side of a Manatee County road.

It’s not clear what led up to his death. 

According to ABC Action News, dispatchers said Jabez might have witnessed a murder before his disappearance. The investigation is ongoing still no result or clue in the murder case of Jabez’s death. His mom is hoping that some magic happen, and her son might get justice. 

Jabez’s mother, Tawana Spann, has planned to launch a podcast on missing children. Though her son’s death is still unsolved, Spann is using the tragedy as motivation to help other families of missing children.

Jabez went missing on Labor Day on September 4, 2021. After one and half years of investigation, police discovered his remains on the side of a rural Manatee County road.

When Jabez’s parents heard about the remains of the body being identified as a 14 years old Jabez, they were devastated. Who killed him? The question has no answer. No arrest has been made yet, and police are looking for the clue. 

However, Jabez’s mom and dad have learned to leave without him, but the grief of their son’s death will always remain in the corner of their heart.

The mystery case of Jabez has not been solved yet. It is nearly four years now since his murder.

In February 2019, Sarasota Police and Manatee County Sheriff got a call from a man working on a fence line who found the remains in a rural part of Manatee County, west of I-75. Later, police examine and send the sample to the bureau office for the autopsy. 

They later confirmed the remained was none other than Jabez, a 14-year-old teenage guy who went missing in 2017. 

Who Killed Jabez Spann? Is Anyone Arrested?

It’s not clear who killed Jabez Spann. No one has been taken into custody. 

The case remains unsolved indeed, according to Robinson. Plus, he added the murder case remains an “active and ongoing investigation.”

Whatsoever, Jabez’s mom said the many children who went missing for years won’t get highlighted often, which involves people of color.

She gave an example of Gabby Petito. With the help of social media platforms, her missing case got closed.
