What is the story of Mob Psycho 100?

Mob Psycho 100 tells the story of Seigeo Kageyama, an eighth grader with Esper ability. The psychic tries his best to not stand out, but his powers often rope him into increasingly dangerous situations. Kageyama’s powers grow more powerful as the years pass, so he buckles down his emotions to keep a lid on his powers.

After a beloved run, Mob Psycho 100 came to an end just before the holidays rolled in. The web-comic’s creator confirmed his work with Seigeo Kageyama had reach its end, and the series’ final update featured a letter penned by ONE to the fans. And, as you can imagine, the afterword is a rather touching one.

The Bang Zoom!-produced dub has been released on Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack with a limited edition on December 5, 2017 , and was broadcast on Toonami on Adult Swim starting October 27, 2018. The series is also streamed on HBO Max in the United States.

On December 2, 2015, Ura Sunday announced that the Mob Psycho 100 would be adapted into an anime television series. The anime adaptation was produced by Bones and directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa. Hiroshi Seko wrote the scripts, Yoshimichi Kameda designed the characters, and Kenji Kawai composed the music.

Because the anime adaptation of “100 Mob Psycho” has been largely faithful to its source material, fans have a good idea of what they can expect from Season 3.

There are 16 volumes of the “100 Mob Psycho” manga by ONE, and, as noted by fans on Reddit, the first two seasons divided up the first 12 of those volumes, with six covered in each season. This leaves the final four volumes, which compose the last two full story arcs, in the original manga left for the anime to explore.

Season 1 of “100 Mob Psycho” was first announced in late 2015, via Anime News Network, and the first episodes were released for Japanese audiences in July of 2016. The series then went on a hiatus while the first season was dubbed for English audiences. Those episodes were released over two years later, in October 2018.

Without any confirmation that Season 3 is on the way, the best fans could hope for at this point is a 2022 arrival — but they should wait for an announcement before they get too excited.

Other returning characters to keep an eye open for include Teru, the antagonist turned friendly rival played by Erik Scott Kimerer , the Body Improvement Club president Musashi, voiced by Patrick Seitz, and the ambitious Tome, played by Cherami Leigh.

“Mob Psycho 100,” which has spawned two well-received seasons, is an excellent example of this, as fans agonize over if and when a third chapter will ever arrive.
