Jeffery Edward Epstein was an American financier and convicted sex offender. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, began his professional life teaching at the Dalton School in Manhattan, despite lacking a college degree.
How did Jeffrey Epstein get caught?
In 2005, police in Palm Beach, Florida began investigating Epstein after a parent complained that he had sexually abused her 14-year-old daughter. Epstein pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute.
On July 27, 2006, Epstein was arrested by the Palm Beach Police Department on state Felony charges of procuring a minor for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute. He was booked at the Palm Beach Country jail and later released on a $3,000 bond.
Epstein died in his jail cell on August 10, 2019. The medical examiner ruled the death a suicide.
