Tamera Mowry-Housley is devastated by the death of Alaina Housley, the niece of her husband Adam Housley.
Alana was 18 years old. Just hours after confirming that Alaina had died in the shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, the 40-year-old co-host of The Real shared a heartfelt tribute to the Napa, California-based Pepperdine University student.
The loss of Tamera Mowry-niece, Housley’s Adam Housley’s niece Alaina Housley, has left the couple devastated.
Alana had reached the age of eighteen. Within a few short hours of learning that Alaina had been killed in the shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, the 40-year-old co-host of The Real wrote a moving tribute to the Pepperdine University student from Napa.
“Alaina. You are really sweet, Alaina. This truly saddens me. It’s hard for me to accept. Mowry-Housley lamented on Instagram on Thursday that “it’s not fair how you left and how you left us so quickly.”
To have known you since you were five years old is a blessing. In a nutshell, you snatched my affection. The mother of two went on,
“I shall miss our inside jokes, our piano serenades.” I will always remember our duet performance of the national anthem at the Napa football game, and I appreciate your patience while I learned to braid your hair. I adore you,” the Sister, Sister star continued.
Simply put, my heart is in love with you. That’s how much a person like me cares about you. You have the makings of a stunning angel. Please know that all of the victims of this terrible event are in my thoughts and prayers. A college freshman, an eager army recruit, and others were killed in the California shooting.
During a college country music night in Southern California, a gunman opened fire and launched smoke bombs, killing at least 12 people. It is unknown how the shooter, a Marine Corps veteran, died in the incident.
Before releasing a statement to the public about their niece’s death, Tamera and Adam, a former Fox News correspondent, looked for information about Alaina on social media.
All of us here at HQ have had our hearts shattered. The Housleys said, “We just found out that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of yesterday night’s massacre at the Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks,” in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. We are heartbroken that Alaina’s life had to be cut short like this; she was a very bright and promising young woman. For now, we beg for privacy and appreciate the prayers for her.
