We are in shock. George Portz closed out our festival on Saturday night and today he passed away of a heart attack. He was full of energy and stories. An avid supporter of our association and the one and only musician that I could count on to turn in dates and stories for our newsletter. His passing will leave a huge hole in the Midwest bluegrass world. He looked great on Saturday and we even talked about it and that he just celebrated his 70th birthday. We never know when it will be our time or the last time we will spend with others. This picture was taken on Saturday at our festival. Prayers for his family.
