They got married in 1988 but divorced after almost five years in 1994. During a 2007 interview with Good Housekeeping, Daniel disclosed the real reason behind their split. 

In 1987, 19-year-old Faith moved to Nashville to pursue her music career. Soon after that, she and her ex-husband met and eventually cited their wedding vows. However, she became frustrated with the music industry to the point where she considered chasing another dream, interior design.

After that, the musical searched and found her biological mother, entirely changing her marital life. Meeting her actual mom impacted her profoundly, ultimately ending their marriage.

Martha Sharp, an executive from Warner Bros. Records, was among the audience when Faith performed at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe as a backup vocal singer for Gary Burr. That eventful encounter impressed and encouraged her to provide Faith with a recording contract.

After releasing her 1994 album, she and Daniel divorced. 

Following their split, Faith married Tim McGraw, an American country singer and record artist, in 1996. Together, they share three daughters, Gracie, Maggie Elizabeth, and Audrey Caroline McGraw.
