Emma Sarah Whittaker was born on March 26, 1999, in Wichita, Kan to Heather Whitaker and Camden Whitaker.

She has two siblings; Clara Whitaker and Asher Whitaker.

Whitaker won the Kansas 5A state championship all four years at Kapaun Mount Carmel High School, where she graduated.

She was also chained for the individual state championship, which was held in 2016. However, the Caddie was only able to win it as a senior in the year 2017.

Whitaker attended Oklahoma State University and played collegiate golf with the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
