Biography:

Emily Mortimer was born on December 1, 1971 in London, England. She attended Oxford University, where she read Russian at Lincoln College and performed in numerous plays.

She was spotted while in a school production and was cast in the 1995 television adaptation of The Glass Virgin. She subsequently appeared in other TV shows such as Sharpe’s Sword and Coming Home.

Her film debut was in the 1996 film The Ghost and the Darkness. She then took her biggest role in the American film Disney’s The Kid, playing opposite Bruce Willis.

In 2005, she played a major role in Woody Allen’s Match Point.
