Stephon Stiles Gilmore is a free agent cornerback in the National Football League. He was picked tenth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills after playing college football for South Carolina.

Gilmore signed a 5-year, $65 million contract with the New England Patriots in 2017, after five seasons as a starting cornerback for the Bills and a Pro Bowl invite in 2016, before being moved to the Carolina Panthers in 2021.

Gilmore has subsequently established himself as one of the league’s best defensive players, earning four additional Pro Bowl invites and first-team All-Pro honours in 2018 and 2019, as well as the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019

Following an almost year-long layoff due to injuries, he was traded to the Panthers in 2021 in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He appeared in three of Carolina’s eight games, making 16 tackles and two interceptions.
