Darshan Dharmaraj was a stage, screen, and television actor from Sri Lanka. Through the teledrama A9 starring Sidney Chandrasekara, he made his debut on television.
His portrayal of an ex-LTTE cadre in Asoka Handagama’s film Ini Avan earned him the Best Actor Awards at a number of Sri Lankan film festivals.
Sydney Chandrasekara’s television series A-Nine chose Dharmaraj in 2008 for the Sinhala script. He claimed to have acquired Sinhala within three months, despite not being a native speaker at the time.
In 2008, he made his film debut with Prabhakaran. At the age of 41, Dharmaraj passed away from a heart attack at Colombo National Hospital on October 2, 2022.
