Following the untimely death of a retired officer who had nearly 24 years of service, a Downriver police agency is mourning one of their own.
The police agency posted on social media, “This is so sad because Dan Torolski retired from the PD only a little over a month ago. He will regrettably not be able to fulfill his retirement wish of relocating to Florida with his wife.
The staff characterized Torolski as a good man who never spoke ill of anyone and was always beaming.
We regret to notify our supporters that one of our own has passed away. Ofc. Torolski, also known as “Toro,” died suddenly…
The statement added, “Toro was best known at WPD for his kindness, generosity, and love of life. He had a fervent love for Wolverine. He brashly declared that the Lions would win the Super Bowl EVERY YEAR!
According to the department, Torolski was enjoyable to work with and functioned as everyone’s brother and friend in addition to being a fellow officer.
“R.I.P. ‘Toro’ — our condolences to your wife, family, neighbors, and friends,” the department’s officials continued. “We were all truly blessed to have known and loved ‘Toro’.”
No additional information about the deceased former officer’s demise was made public.
