Dan Brownlee Died in Columbus Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

The victim of a deadly car accident that occurred in Lowndes County on Monday has been identified as Daniel Brownlee of New Hope, Mississippi.

On Monday afternoon in Columbia, a single-vehicle collision claimed the life of Dan Brownlee, 61.

According to sources, Brownlee was driving a car on Casey Lane in Columbus, close to Lake Lowndes Road, when for some reason, the car veered off the road and collided with a stand of trees. Then the car started to catch fire.

Brownlee was taken to a local hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision.

The accident’s cause is still being looked into.
