She is also famous for working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a girl, Smulders dreamt of becoming a marine biologist or doctor. In fact, it wasn't until high school that she began to explore acting after performing in numerous school productions. As a teenager, she caught the eye of a modeling agency and began travelling all over the world for her modeling projects. During this time, Smulders developed a ‘kind of hatred’ towards the modeling profession and this initially made her hesitant about pursuing an acting career. She then decided to fight against this negative feeling and give her best anyway. Eventually, she became passionate about working in the entertainment field. Till date, the Canadian beauty has acted in several movies, TV shows, and stage plays. Talking about her awards and accolades, she received an EWwy Award and a Theatre World Award for her performances in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and ‘Present Laughter’ respectively.
