Billy Wayne Bailey cause of death – Billy Wayne Bailey Jr., a former West Virginia state senator, has died. Bailey served as the deputy secretary of the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance after serving as a Democratic senator from 1991 to 2009. He passed away on Monday, May 15. Unfortunately, the cause of death is yet to be revealed.
William Wayne Bailey Jr., born June 7, 1957, was appointed to the West Virginia Senate as a Democrat in 1991 and was re-elected in 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004. He was the Senate Majority Whip and sat on a number of committees.
He decided not to run for re-election in 2008. Instead, he ran unsuccessfully for Secretary of State.
He served in the West Virginia Army National Guard’s 1092nd Combat Engineers Battalion from 1978 to 1984, and the West Virginia Air National Guard’s 130th Airlift Wing for 15 years.
He attended Southern West Virginia Community College, Morris Harvey College (now the University of Charleston), and Marshall University after graduating from Herndon High School.
