Edward Michael “Bear” Grylls OBE is a British adventurer, writer, television presenter, and businessman.
He first drew attention after embarking on a number of adventures and then became widely known for his television series Man vs. Wild.
Grylls is also involved in a number of wilderness survival television series in the UK and US, such as Running Wild with Bear Grylls and The Island with Bear Grylls.
In 2004, Grylls was awarded the honorary rank of lieutenant commander in the Royal Naval Reserve. Then in 2013 he was awarded the honorary rank of lieutenant colonel in the Royal Marines Reserve and was promoted to Honorary Colonel in June 2021.

Bear Grylls is a proud father of Marmaduke Mickey Percy Grylls, Jesse Grylls, and Huckleberry Edward Jocelyne Grylls.
Grylls married his wife Shara in 2000. Through their marriage, the pair has produced three sons.
Their first child Jesse Grylls was born in 2003.
The second one Marmaduke Mickey Percy Grylls was born in 2006, and last one Huckleberry Edward Jocelyne Grylls was born in 2009.
