As she struggles with acute dementia and leads a solitary life in her NYC apartment, Barbara Walters appears to be nearing the end of her days.

The journalist, according to insiders, is “a shadow of herself.” She doesn’t appear to recall the day, let alone her well-known friends and former coworkers.

Barbara Walters health: What disease did Barbara Walters have?

Walters, who last made a public appearance in 2016, appears to be getting older. Since the outbreak, there have been fewer visits, thus the former TV personality is now surrounded by her caregivers.

Barbara Walters hardly ever leaves her bed, according to a source, who also claimed that “everyone is scared for the worst.”

On September 26, 2022, Barbara Walters celebrated her 93rd birthday at The View with her former coworkers.

On Monday’s broadcast, Walters’ former co-host Whoopi Goldberg wished her well and said, “27 never looked so nice.”

Although neither Barbara Walters nor her agents publicly acknowledged having dementia, rumors from former coworkers indicated that she had problems recalling names. They further mentioned that since 2013, her memory had been hazy.
