Girls Incarcerated star, Aubrey Wilson, passed away on September 30, 2022, due to drug overdose. She was aged 22.

Her death was announced by her grandmother, Robin Waters.

“We are devastated. I am a private person, but this is a little different,” Waters said in a statement. “I want all the people who loved her to find some comfort in the fact that she is at peace. And maybe it could help someone else who is in that position”, Waters said.

Wilson has a history of consuming heroin or fentanyl, and has been behind bars on three occasions as a result.

Wilson, who lost her mother in 2021, has had a tough time battling drug abuse. Efforts to curb her addiction had proved abortive, as she escaped from a correctional facility on several occasions.

Wilson is known for starring in the Netflix docuseries Girls Incarcerated, which premiered in 2018.

The series is based on the life of teenage inmates who were locked up at the Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility in Indiana.

Also appearing in Girls Incarcerated are Brianna Guerra, Paige Mcatee, Heidi Lakin, Taryn Twine, Armani Buckner, Sarah Maxwell and Najwa Pollard.
